The Rhode Island Educational Mission
The quality of our schools and the availability of affordable health care continue to be two of the most talked about issues in our state. And these issues are at the cornerstone of the RIFTHP. The Federation is a diverse organization, representing more than 10,000 members who work as teachers, nurses and other health professionals, school related personnel, higher education faculty and staff, and state and municipal employees.

AFT Activist Center energizes convention with fun and resources
Convention participants flocked to the AFT Activist Center today, posing at the photo booth, spinning a wheel for free data quotes, tossing plastic balls for a chance to win a First Book giveaway, and collecting information (and swag) about everything from multilingual teaching resources to member engagement, student debt clinics and member benefits. The collection of information tables, including those from the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, with maps and coupons for area attractions, was a great way to sample the many resources the union has to offer.
